Maji Maji Awards – Human Rights champions in Tanzania

The first three Maji Maji awards were awarded to human rights champions from the three pillars of the state that is executive, parliament and judiciary respectively

In 2020 the Maji Maji award recipient is expected to be an outstanding human rights champion among members of the public

Eligibility for 2020 MajiMaji Award

Eligible Nominees

To be eligible for nomination, a nominee must be a citizen of the United Republic of Tanzania or have the Tanzanian permanent residency as of the date of nomination

Nominee's Contribution

Entrants must have made a significant contribution to the promotion and protection of human rights in Tanzania and been active in this area between December 2015 to June 2020. Learn more
